Abril Correa
My name is Abril Correa, and I am a first-generation, third-year student at the University of Idaho studying psychology and child development with a minor in spanish. I am originally from Jerome, Idaho and I have always had a great passion for helping others, especially those who are most vulnerable, children. Upon graduating and attaining my bachelor's degree, I want to attend graduate school and pursue a career as a clinical child psychologist and specialize in developmental trauma. I am currently conducting my research as McNair Scholar with Assistant Professor Shiyi Chen on “Self-Image of Adult Children of Alcoholics.” I also had the opportunity to work as a research assistant with Assistant Professor Annie Roe on the study, “Early Beef Consumption in Idaho: Perceptions, Practices, and Relationship to Child Cognition.” I am currently serving the position of vice president and UNITY representative for my sorority, Kappa Delta Chi Inc. I am also involved in the Multicultural Greek Council as the public relations chair and a work study for the Financial Aid Office. I am beyond grateful for all of the opportunities that the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences has provided me with, and I cannot wait to share my experience with all!
