    What is web accessibility?

Web accessibility ensures that websites are inclusive and will give everyone equal access to online information. As more services move online, it’s important that websites are designed to be accessed by all audiences, taking factors such as visual impairments, disabilities and injuries into account.

Not only is web accessibility intended to help all users access information, but it can often drastically improve the overall web experience. Popular functions such as subtitles for videos were originally designed with disabilities in mind, yet everyone can benefit from their use. When designing web properties, it’s critical to consider how audiences might engage with the content, and if there are any barriers or difficulties that could prevent them from accessing the necessary information.

    ADA Title II

As a public institution, University of Idaho follows ADA Title II web accessibility guidelines. ADA Title II seeks to remove barriers preventing users from accessing needed information. ADA Title II requires all government entities to own equal-access websites, so that all audiences can engage with public organizations and perform desired actions.

    Learn more about Title II

Ensure that web properties are accessible and in accordance with Act Title II governance.
