Homecoming week highlights
- Vandalize Moscow and Vandalize Campus where local businesses, U of I offices and student living groups show their best Vandal pride decorations.
- Serpentine, Vandal Rally and fireworks the night before the big game.
- Homecoming Parade through downtown Moscow.
- Vandal Tailgate and Pre-Game celebration starting two hours before kickoff.
Get involved
Vandal Alumni
Vandal alumni are always encouraged to participate as judges for Homecoming royalty, Vandalize Campus, Vandalize Moscow, Jingles, Most Vandalized Fan and the parade. Royalty interviews are typically over Zoom, so you can participate from anywhere. Alumni interested in judging any of these events are encouraged to sign up. Become an alumni judge.
Students and campus organizations
All students are welcome to participate in all Homecoming festivities and competitions. Contact homecoming@uidaho.edu to learn more.
Celebrate Homecoming with the Vandal Marching Band
High school bands are invited to participate in the Homecoming parade and join the Vandal Marching Band for the pregame show.
Homecoming Committee
The Homecoming Committee is a team of students from across campus who plan and host Homecoming Week events each year. Planning begins in the spring.

Explore Homecoming Committee positions
Homecoming president
This position leads the Homecoming Committee within the Student Alumni Relations Board (SARB) and University of Idaho. They work with the SARB advisor and other committee members to plan the week and guide the team.
Vice president of Homecoming
The main duty of the VP is to support the Homecoming president. Responsibilities may include scheduling meetings, managing committee communications and keeping committee members accountable. The VP promotes Homecoming and recruits new committee members.
Director of teams
This position promotes committee involvement and encourages student participation in Homecoming events. They work closely with judges and the points and prizes coordinator to align teams and visit living groups to build engagement.
Director of marketing
Working with the assistant director of community outreach, this position works to create special promotions and deals at local businesses during Homecoming Week. The director of marketing coordinates closely with the SARB advisor, UI Foundation marketing and communications and University Communications and Marketing to create and execute marketing plans.
Assistant director of philanthropy
This position partners with the Red Cross to coordinate the annual blood drive, identifies a community partner for the annual food drive and explores options for other philanthropic events.
Assistant director of fundraising
This position partners with the UI Foundation’s Annual Giving team to raise funds for the Homecoming fireworks show. This includes developing a fundraising appeal with the SARB advisor and UI Foundation marketing and communications, as well as managing other fundraising activities such as Koozie sales or promo parties.
Assistant director of Friday night events
This position helps develop, prepare for and set up Friday night events such as the Serpentine, fireworks show and Vandal Rally. They work closely with staff members in Alumni Relations, Parking and Facilities.
Merchandise coordinator
This position serves as the main contact for U of I Licensing and Trademarks to gain branding approval for Homecoming merchandise designs.
Public relations coordinator
By working with local Moscow businesses, this position coordinates the annual window painting competition and assigns student teams to storefronts.
Parade coordinator
This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing the annual Homecoming parade.
Royalty coordinator
This position manages the nomination and voting process for Homecoming royalty. Royalty coordinators are appointed, not nominated.
Judges, points and prizes coordinator
This position recruits and schedules judges for Homecoming events. Along with the director of teams, this position manages team points.
