Sunday, Sept. 25

Where: VandalStore Plaza

Test your knowledge of campus and UI traditions in this first event of Homecoming 2016: JOE for the GOLD. Grab your group, download the GooseChase app, and meet at the Vandal Store Plaza for the Olympic Trials. Do you have what it takes to win gold?

Where: Pitman Center International Ballroom

The trials are over and the time has arrived for the Opening Ceremonies. Bring your group’s loudest and most creative cheers, because the decibels and the creativity matter in Yell Like Hell. The group with the best chant will be recognized for their effort followed by the announcement of the Homecoming Royalty Candidates.

Monday, Sept. 26

Where: TLC Lounge

Participate in the 67th Annual UI Blood Drive, the first collegiate blood drive in the nation. 

Where: Main Street Moscow

The world is on display in this event. Come to Friendship Square, and decorate a window for one of the many businesses in downtown Moscow. Paint and Brushes will be provided by the Homecoming Committee upon check-in.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

Where: Various campus locations

Campus departments show their creative interpretation of this year's theme by transforming their office spaces into a Joe for the Gold Olympic setting. Winners will be announced at the 13th Annual Faculty Staff Alumni Luncheon.

Where: TLC Lounge

Participate in the 67th Annual UI Blood Drive, the first collegiate blood drive in the nation. 

Where: Commons Plaza

Come to the Commons Plaza to visits Joe’s own Olympic Village. Test your Olympian skills in an inflatable obstacle course, capture your Olympic moments in the photo booth, or get your split with Minute-to-Win-it time trials. There’s something for everyone at the Olympic Village.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

Where: Bruce M. Pitman Center, International Ballroom

Please join fellow University of Idaho faculty, staff and retirees who are also proud alumni for a festive buffet lunch and a fun-filled hour complete with door prizes and lots of Vandal spirit! RSVP to alumni@uidaho.edu with "Alumni Lunch" in the subject line by TBA date.

Lights. Music. Action! Join us in the Bruce Pitman Center International Ballroom for skits and jingles of Olympic proportions as teams compete for the best anthem.

Thursday, Sept. 29

Where: TLC Lounge 


For patients diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma and other life-threatening diseases, a bone marrow or cord blood transplant may be their best or only hope for a cure. Yet 70% of patients who need a transplant to do not have a fully matched donor in their family. Be The Match and their supporters help patients find a match to save their life. Stop by, join the registry and save a life.

Where: Various locations, drop-off at the VandalStore

Vandals will help collect food for the St. Mary's Food Bank, the Vandal Food Pantry and supplies for Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse. The food drive is a great way to help those around us both on campus and in the community.

Friday, Sept. 30

Where: College of Eduation Building

Celebrate the grand re-opening of the newly remodeled College of Education building. After the ribbon cutting enjoy refreshments and building tours.

The Homecoming Competition is in full swing with competing teams decorating their living groups according to theme. Groups can also submit a banner to be hung in the commons. Judges will score based on adherence to theme, creativity, Vandal pride, originality, and overall appearance.

Cheer on the Vandal women's soccer team as they take on Northern Colorado.

Where: Outside South Entrance of Gritman Medical Center, 700 S. Main St., Moscow.

Join Gritman Medical Center as they kick off the University of Idaho Homecoming weekend with a Vandal Spirit Friday Chili Feed. This event is free to the public and will feature homemade chili, the Vandal Spirit Squad and the UI Marching band. Joe Vandal will also be in attendance and guest can take photos with him in a special Spirit Friday photo booth.

Join us as the Vandal Marching Band leads students, faculty, staff and alumni through campus to the annual Homecoming Bonfire. Gather outside living groups on campus and join in!

Come celebrate Vandal Pride as we hear from coaches and athletes. Homecoming Royalty Court will be announced.

Immediately following the Medal Ceremony and Bonfire we will have a Homecoming fireworks show sponsored by Latah Credit Union. Join us in celebrating the University of Idaho!

TowerLights presented by the Association of Computing Machinery

Enjoy an LED light show synchronized with music as produced by students in Association of Computing Machinery.

Saturday, Oct. 1

The Farmers Market is a popular Moscow tradition that was established in 1977. The Saturday morning event celebrates local farmers, artists, craftspeople and musicians by providing them with an opportunity to interact directly with the community and its visitors. Highlights include fresh produce, meat, delicious homemade baked goods, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers and quality handmade crafts.

Where: Main Street, downtown Moscow 

Show Moscow why your team deserves the Homecoming gold as you march your way toward the podium. The 108th Annual Best-Western Plus University Inn Homecoming Parade will travel main street led by Grand Marshals TBA.

Come watch the Vandal Football team take on Troy University in the Kibbie Dome for the Homecoming Football game!
