Faculty members from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences received 41 grants from the Idaho Wheat Commission for a total of $814,894. Highlights include: Jianli Chen, $153,058 for Developing Wheat Cultivars for Idaho and World Markets”; Katherine O’Brien, $122,629 for “Quality Assurance and Improvement”; and Yueguang Wang, $86,616 for “Developing Soft White Winter Wheat for Idaho.”

Gordon Murdoch and Brenda Murdoch, $23,640 from the Idaho Beef Council for “Solving the maturity grade problem through targeted gene analyses.”

Luc Leblanc, $34,170 from USDA-APHIS for “Bactrocera Collections and Expert Identification.”

Louise-Marie Dandurand, Fangming Xiao, Joseph Kohl and Allan Caplan received four grants totaling $400,000 from USDA-APHIS for “Farm Bill Potato Cyst Nematode Immunity.”

Joseph Kuhl, Robert Tripepi and Louise-Marie Dandurand received three grants totaling $6,000 from USDA-APHIS for “Sterile Litchi Tomato - PCN Eradication.”

Stephen Cook, $32,913 from Northern Arizona University for “Collaborative Research: Digitization TCN: Lepidoptera of North America Network: Documenting Diversity in the Largest Clade of Herbivores.”

Brenda Schroeder, $24,237 from Idaho Eastern Oregon Onion Commission for “Determination of the Impact of Temperature and Other Cutting Parameters on F. proliferatum Onion Bulb Rot in Storage.”

Michael Thornton, $1,674 from Idaho Eastern Oregon Onion Commission for “Determination of the Impact of Temperature and Other Cutting Parameters on F. proliferatum Onion Bulb Rot in Storage.”
