About

The Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology (AERS) provides programs with focus areas in agribusiness, marketing, trade policy, production agriculture, natural resources and community development.

Students in the agribusiness and agricultural economics undergraduate programs prepare for a variety of exciting career opportunities in the agricultural and food-related sectors.

Experiential learning and opportunities outside of the classroom build professional skills and networking with field and industry professionals.

AERS also offers a master's degree in applied economics. The agricultural commodity risk management program is the only individually funded program in commodity trading and hedging in the nation and boasts a 100% job placement rate.
