Disability

Annual Disability | $108 (2024-25)

Available for purchase online by university faculty, staff, students or frequent visitors who provide photo identification and current registration for a state-issued Disability permit or Disability license plates. As an alternative to an in-office purchase, this required information may be pre-submitted electronically to be made eligible for online purchase. If state-issued Disability permit is non-expiring, there will be no need to annually update state information after the initial submittal. Disability permit holders may park in: ADA marked spaces, any regular colored lot space, metered spaces, posted time spaces and valid campus walkway spaces.

Temporary Disability | Prices Vary (2024-25)

Available for purchase by university faculty, staff, students or visitors who provide photo identification and current registration for a state-issued Disability permit, and submit a U of I Temporary Disability permit application. U of I Temporary Disability permit’s expiration date will be set to match that of the temporary state-issued placard. U of I Disability permits, displayed with a state-issued Disability permit, validate parking in: ADA marked spaces, any regular colored lot space, metered spaces, posted time spaces and valid campus walkway spaces. Temporary disability permits are free to holders of an annual parking permit and $1 per day for all others, not to exceed the cost of an annual disability permit. Both the state-issued placard and the university permit must be displayed in the vehicle.

Short-Term Access | Varies (2024-25)

Available for purchase/pick-up in-office only for those who need improved access on campus due to a short-term disability. This permit type is valid for three days in: any regular colored lot space, metered spaces, posted timed spaces and valid campus walkway spaces. This permit is not valid in ADA marked spaces. There is a limit of one (1) issued permit per person per academic year. Short-Term Access permits are free to holders of an annual parking permit and $3 for all others. If access to ADA marked spaces is necessary, or improved access parking is required for a period of longer than three (3) days, please see Disability Permits above.
