No! An extraordinary education at the University of Idaho does not require a vehicle. The U of I campus and the city of Moscow form a vibrant urban oasis in the wide open spaces of the Palouse. Walking and bicycling get you where you need to go on campus and downtown. With over 2,500 bicycle parking spaces on campus, getting to class or the gym is quick and convenient.
Need to grab groceries? The City of Moscow’s free SMART Transit service offers transportation Monday through Friday to key destinations all over Moscow with four stops on the U of I campus.
If a vehicle is a must, however, we are here to help. Parking is limited and we encourage Greeks who do not plan on using their vehicle three or more times a week to purchase an Economy parking permit. Park just west of the Kibbie Dome for a low cost for the whole year. See Economy permit below.
For Greeks who need their vehicle almost daily, a Purple parking permit allows parking closer to your residence. Distribution of Purple parking permits is managed by each house.
Purchase your Purple or Economy parking permit when Greek recruitment concludes and house presidents have determined eligibility. Please see permit details below.
Purple | $255 (2020-21)
Available to eligible, current in-house members of a Greek house. Valid for daytime parking (6 a.m. - 2 a.m.) in Purple and Blue lots. Valid for overnight parking (2 a.m. - 6 a.m.) in Purple lots only. Students must be made eligible for a Purple permit by the house president or leader prior to purchase. See map.
Economy | $61 (2020-21)
Available to current members of Greek houses and Residence Halls. Valid only in Lot 57E (west of Kibbie). Valid for overnight parking in Lot 57E only. See map. Vandal Football Game Day parking may require you to temporarily move your vehicle. See map.
