Other Permits & Forms – Including Disability

  • Both a U of I Disability permit (Temporary or Annual) and a valid State-issued Disability permit or Disability license plate are required to be displayed in all campus ADA marked spaces except after 5 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, academic breaks, and on university holidays. During these times, ONLY a valid State-issued Disability permit or Disability license plate is required to be displayed in ADA marked spaces.
  • In all hourly paid parking areas and posted timed spaces—at all times that payment is required or time limit is enforced—ONLY a State-issued Disability permit or Disability license plate is required to be displayed, and no time restriction applies. However, it is a violation of these regulations for a current university employee or student to park in a campus meter or timed space with only a State-issued Disability permit or Disability license plate in order to avoid the purchase of a university parking permit. See also APM 40.32.A.2.
  • Both a U of I Disability permit (Temporary or Annual) and a valid State-issued Disability permit or Disability license plate are required to park in regular spaces in color parking lots when permits are required.

Annual Disability | $70

Available for purchase in office or online by university faculty, staff, students or frequent visitors who provide photo identification and a current state-issued disability permit or disability license plate registration. Before attempting to purchase an annual Disability permit online, please email a photo or scanned image of the photo ID and state disability permit/plate registration to parking@uidaho.edu. A U of I annual Disability permit can then be purchased by visiting aims.parking.uidaho.edu. If the state-issued disability permit is non-expiring, there will be no need to annually update state information after the initial submission. Otherwise, a new state disability placard/plate registration will need to be submitted when the original expires. Please see Guidelines for Use above. Please contact our office with questions at 208-885-6424 or parking@uidaho.edu.

Temporary Disability | Prices Vary

Available for purchase by university faculty, staff, students or visitors who provide photo identification and current registration for a state-issued Disability permit, and submit a U of I Temporary Disability permit application. The U of I Temporary Disability permit’s expiration date will be set to match that of the temporary state-issued placard. Temporary disability permits are free to holders of an annual parking permit and $1 per day for all others, not to exceed the cost of an annual disability permit. Please see Guidelines for Use above. Please contact our office with questions: 208-885-6424 or parking@uidaho.edu.

Short-Term Access | Varies

Available for purchase/pick-up in-office only for those who need improved access on campus due to a short-term disability. This permit type is valid for 3 days in: any regular colored lot space, metered spaces, posted timed spaces and valid campus walkway spaces. This permit is not valid in ADA marked spaces. There is a limit of 1 issued permit per person per year. Short-Term Access permits are free to holders of an annual parking permit and $2 for all others. If access to ADA marked spaces is necessary, or improved access parking is required for a period of longer than 3 days, please see Disability Permits above.

Vandal Access Service | Free

Vandal Access Service provides University of Idaho students and employees with temporary or permanent mobility-limiting disabilities equal access to facilities, programs and services on campus. Our ADA accessible van operates during fall and spring academic sessions only, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, click here.

Daycare | $15

Available for those who have children attending West Park Elementary, Early Childhood Learning Center or the Child Development Lab. Valid for 15 minutes in all colored lots. Purchase information: online form.

Commuter Overnight/Early Morning (OE) | Price Varies

This annual permit is for use by commuting Vandals who need to park on campus between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. for academic pursuits (study, research, etc.) and/or on-campus employment. Parking before 2 a.m. or after 7:45 a.m. requires the appropriate commuter permit (Gold, Orange, Red or Blue). Commuter O/E permits can not be combined with Gold, Orange, Red or Blue parking permits to imitate residential parking privileges. Gold permit holders can park overnight in Gold parking lots, but would need a Commuter O/E permit to park overnight in Orange, Red or Blue parking lots. No parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. is allowed in Gold parking lots without a Gold or Overnight permit. No parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. is allowed in Orange, Red or Blue parking lots without an Overnight permit. Commuter O/E permits are NOT valid in meters, timed spaces, service/delivery spaces, disability spaces, reserved spaces, campus walkway or an area not designated as a parking space.

Permit is $0 for individuals who hold an annual permit or $15 otherwise. Purchase information: online form.

Temporary Overnight permits can be purchased online for $3/day or $0 for those who hold an annual permit (limit 10/year). Follow the process as you normally would and then select "OVERNIGHTONLINE" from the menu.

Temporary Delivery | Prices Vary

Temporary Delivery permits may be used in the following spaces for a maximum of 1 hour: signed delivery space, meters, timed spaces and regular colored lot spaces. These permits are not valid in reserved or disability spaces or areas not designated as parking spaces.

Temporary Delivery permits are $3/day for non-UI affiliates and $0 for UI affiliates. They can be ordered online. These permits are valid only for the dates printed on the permit.

Lost/Stolen Permit Replacement | $15

A lost or stolen permit should be reported to the parking office as soon as possible. You will need to complete a short lost/stolen permit form and pay a $15 replacement fee to receive a replacement permit. If you find your permit after reporting it stolen it is very important that you do not use it or give it to anyone else. You should return the permit to the Parking Office. Using a permit that was reported lost/stolen may result in a fine for lost/stolen permit ($200).

If you lose a payroll deducted Vandal parking permit you will need to notify us if you would like payroll deductions to cease for that permit, or to obtain a new permit for a $15 replacement fee.
