Engineering EXPO

The longest-running student engineering and technology innovation showcase in the Pacific Northwest. K–12 and community college students, industry partners and community members are invited to explore student projects, connect with innovators and experience what it’s like to be an engineering student.

Summer Design Days

Want to learn to code or enhance your coding skills? Check out our Summer 2026 Coding Camp for middle and high school students. We’ll use MIT’s easy-to-use Scratch coding platform designed for students entering grades 6–8 next school year.
Lionel Hampton Music Camp

Join the Lionel Hampton School of Music for a week of music-making, mentorship and fun on campus. Open to instrumentalists and singers in grades 8–12, this camp brings young musicians together to learn and perform.
Kids Drama Camp

Young performers ages 7–14 can take center stage at Kids Drama Camp, hosted by Idaho Repertory Theatre in partnership with University of Idaho’s Department of Theatre Arts. Campers enjoy an immersive summer experience in acting, storytelling and theatrical production.
PGA Junior Golf League

Join the next generation of golfers at the U of I Golf Course through the PGA Junior League, open to youth aged 7-13 of all skill levels.
Vandal Kids Camps

Fun, active and educational day camps designed for kids in grades 1–6. Each themed week includes games, sports, arts, crafts and hands-on learning led by trained camp staff.
World-Changers in Engineering (WIE) Day

4-H youth programming

The 4-H year begins October 1 annually. Explore programs across Idaho that connect youth with experiential learning, leadership and community projects through your local 4-H chapter.
Youth climbing at the U of I Climbing Center
Year-round after-school and weekend programs help climbers under 18 build skills, confidence and a sense of adventure. Looking for a team experience? The Palouse Youth Climbing Team runs October–March for ages 11–17.

Screen on the Green

Spend your summer evenings under the stars with Screen on the Green — a free outdoor movie series hosted by the Department of Student Involvement and Vandal Entertainment. Bring your friends, family and a cozy blanket to the Theophilus Tower Lawn every Thursday from June through August for a lineup of beloved classics and crowd favorites.
