Vandal Science Day
An exciting event to do science
Vandal Science Day is a free and open-to-the-public annual event hosted by University of Idaho's College of Science. This engaging day of discovery features hands-on workshops, presentations and interactive learning experiences led by College of Science faculty members and students. Participants of all ages are invited to explore various scientific fields and see science come to life.

Location: Integrated Research and Innovation Center (IRIC)
Audience: Open to all ages, with a focus on high school students and their families

Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in science activities and demonstrations
- Engage with faculty and students leading innovative projects
- Explore various scientific disciplines through interactive exhibits
- Gain insight into real-world applications of scientific research
Sample schedule
10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. | Science Trail at Vandal Science Day
Get stamps for participating in interactive science exhibits and activities. View science research posters. Buy rocks from the geology club and other fun! Fill your card with stamps to be eligible for the 3 p.m. prize drawing.
10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. | Laboratory tours
Polymorphic Games Studio, Mammoth fossil lab, NMR chemistry lab and much more.
10:30 a.m. to noon | Lightning Talks
Short science presentations by faculty and students.
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Lunch
Bring a lunch or walk 10 minutes to one of Moscow's terrific restaurants.
1 - 2 p.m. | Science Trivia Contest
Test your science knowledge and compete for prizes!
2:15 - 3 p.m. | Student Research Showcase
Talk with current students about their research projects.
3 p.m. | Vandal Science Day prize drawing
Show up to find out if you win a $500 scholarship, gift basket or other prizes.
