Real reviews of UIdaho campus tours

"The best part of the tour was learning about the rich history and origins of the campus, as well as the many achievements of the school itself and the highly praised programs."

"I loved the Hello Walk and how great all the staff was! I felt so at home as soon as I got here and very welcome."

"I loved getting to go inside a dorm and see what it looked like, and I loved walking down Greek row!"

    Why schedule a campus visit?

You’re making an important decision. You’ve browsed our website, reviewed brochures and done your research. Still, getting a feel for campus can help you make your final choice. Take in the culture and our Moscow location, experience life in the residence halls and campus dining and see where you’ll be learning. Begin to see yourself at U of I with a campus visit.

If you like us on paper, you’ll love us in person. During your tour, meet professors and students, explore majors and prepare to make your final decision after receiving your acceptance letter.

Make the most of your campus visit

To make the most of your trip, consider these tips to enhance your experience on and off campus.

    • Wear comfortable shoes
Our beautiful campus is hilly, and the walking tour can be a workout. Dress for comfort and be ready to enjoy the stroll!
    • Consider the weather
Moscow, Idaho, experiences all four seasons, so check the weather forecast before your trip. Dress appropriately for your walking tour, as most of it is outdoors. Check Idaho 511 for current road conditions and travel updates.
    • Choose the right season to visit
Each season offers a different experience at University of Idaho.
      • Fall: Join in football games and homecoming festivities and relish the vibrant campus spirit and colorful autumn leaves.
      • Winter: Enjoy a picturesque snowy landscape, though travel conditions can be challenging.
      • Spring: Buzz about the campus as it comes alive with students enjoying the outdoors during the first warm days of the year.
      • Summer: Experience a quiet campus atmosphere with students away and bustling downtown Moscow.
      • For the best experience, visit during the spring of your junior year or early fall of your senior year, ideally before submitting your application.
    • Explore the area
Take time to explore beyond the campus tour. Visit the Arboretum, downtown Moscow and other local attractions. There’s so much to love! When you check in for the tour, we’ll provide a list of local favorites to help you make the most of your visit.
    • Plan ahead
Schedule your visit early and make travel arrangements in advance. Hotels and accommodations can fill up quickly. If needed, explore lodging options in nearby Pullman (8 miles west) or Lewiston (33 miles south) for additional choices.
    • Be ready to ask questions
Prepare a list of questions ahead of time for your tour guide, admissions counselor and the students you meet on campus. Not sure what questions to ask? Download our recommendations! (PDF)
    • Take notes and photos
Capture your impressions of University of Idaho with notes and pictures. Reflect on what makes U of I special and how being a Vandal resonates with you. These memories will be invaluable as you make your decision.
