Campus tours are offered Monday through Friday at 9:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and on select Saturdays. These guided tours last approximately two hours and allow prospective students to explore U of I.
Your day on campus:
- Parking
- Free parking on campus with a pass provided via email.
- Check-in
- Welcome Center in the Bruce M. Pitman Center.
- Admissions overview
- Presentation by an admissions professional to learn about scholarships, admissions requirements and more.
- Campus tour
- Guided walking tour led by a current student.
- Explore key areas like Hello Walk, the Academic Mall and more.
- Tour a dorm room in the Theophilus Tower residence hall.
- Tip: Wear comfortable shoes!
- Academic advising session
- Meet one-on-one with your academic department of interest to ask questions and learn about U of I’s top-ranked programs (Depending on availability. Academic sessions are not available for Saturday tours or during campus fall or spring break.)
- Explore
- Enjoy lunch at The Eatery, Idaho Student Union building or investigate off-campus dining options.
- Explore Moscow and the surrounding area. We’ll provide a handout with local recommendations at check-in.

Daily campus tours — Guided tours are offered Monday through Friday (and select Saturdays). Tours are approximately two hours in length and provide prospective students the opportunity to explore all that University of Idaho has to offer.

Why schedule a campus visit?
You’re making an important decision. You’ve browsed our website, reviewed brochures and done your research. Still, getting a feel for campus can help you make your final choice. Take in the culture and our Moscow location, experience life in the residence halls and campus dining and see where you’ll be learning. Begin to see yourself at U of I with a campus visit.
If you like us on paper, you’ll love us in person. During your tour, meet professors and students, explore majors and prepare to make your final decision after receiving your acceptance letter.

To make the most of your trip, consider these tips to enhance your experience on and off campus.
- Wear comfortable shoes
Our beautiful campus is hilly, and the walking tour can be a workout. Dress for comfort and be ready to enjoy the stroll! - Consider the weather
Moscow, Idaho, experiences all four seasons, so check the weather forecast before your trip. Dress appropriately for your walking tour, as most of it is outdoors. Check Idaho 511 for current road conditions and travel updates. - Choose the right season to visit
Each season offers a different experience at University of Idaho.- Fall: Join in football games and homecoming festivities and relish the vibrant campus spirit and colorful autumn leaves.
- Winter: Enjoy a picturesque snowy landscape, though travel conditions can be challenging.
- Spring: Buzz about the campus as it comes alive with students enjoying the outdoors during the first warm days of the year.
- Summer: Experience a quiet campus atmosphere with students away and bustling downtown Moscow.
- For the best experience, visit during the spring of your junior year or early fall of your senior year, ideally before submitting your application.
- Explore the area
Take time to explore beyond the campus tour. Visit the Arboretum, downtown Moscow and other local attractions. There’s so much to love! When you check in for the tour, we’ll provide a list of local favorites to help you make the most of your visit. - Plan ahead
Schedule your visit early and make travel arrangements in advance. Hotels and accommodations can fill up quickly. If needed, explore lodging options in nearby Pullman (8 miles west) or Lewiston (33 miles south) for additional choices. - Be ready to ask questions
Prepare a list of questions ahead of time for your tour guide, admissions counselor and the students you meet on campus. - Take notes and photos
Capture your impressions of University of Idaho with notes and pictures. Reflect on what makes U of I special and how being a Vandal resonates with you. These memories will be invaluable as you make your decision.
