About the event
Join the University of Idaho Parma Research and Extension Center as we celebrate 100 years of serving the community and the state’s agricultural industry. Held during Old Fort Boise Days, this centennial celebration is designed to introduce our neighbors to the vital work happening right in their backyard.
The event provides a fun and educational experience for the Treasure Valley community. Attendees can go behind the scenes to see how our researchers solve real-world problems and support the local economy.
Activities include

- Meet the experts: Visit with scientists and Extension educators specializing in crop production, pest management and more.

A century of discovery
Since its establishment, the Parma Research and Extension Center has been a cornerstone of agricultural progress in southwest Idaho. The center is home to critical research in pomology, entomology, nematology and plant pathology. Our work supports the region’s diverse crops, from onions and hops to fruit trees and seed production, ensuring a resilient and productive future for Idaho growers.
