    Advancing chemical sciences

    The Department of Chemistry at University of Idaho offers a comprehensive education in chemical sciences, blending coursework with applied research. Our programs are designed to prepare you for diverse careers in academia, industry and government. With state-of-the-art facilities and a dedicated faculty, you’ll engage in research across analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry disciplines.

    Academic programs

    U of I chemistry programs provide a solid foundation in chemical principles, complemented by practical laboratory experience.

    Undergraduate degrees:

    • B.S. in chemistry, general option
    • B.S. in chemistry, professional option (ACS certified)
    • B.S. in chemistry, pre-medical option
    • B.S. in chemistry, forensics option

    Graduate degrees:

    • M.S. in chemistry (thesis and non-thesis options)
    • Ph.D. in chemistry

    Minors:

    • Minor in chemistry
