Chemistry | General option
Bachelor of Science
Chemicals are everywhere
From the medicines we take to the materials that power our world, chemistry plays a role in nearly every aspect of life. Chemists study the properties and interactions of natural and synthetic substances — and use that knowledge to invent new materials, advance health care, improve energy sources and protect the environment.
In this program, you’ll explore the fundamental principles of chemistry, learning how substances behave, react and change. You'll build strong research and analytical skills and apply your knowledge to real-world challenges in fields like medicine, manufacturing, national security, food science and environmental protection.
The general option offers maximum flexibility. It’s ideal for students who plan to apply their chemistry background in careers such as sales, law, forensics or hospital and industrial settings, where chemistry is valuable, but not the primary focus. This option allows for a broader course selection, making it easier to customize your degree to match your interests and career goals.
Chemistry graduates go on to careers in education, medicine, research, industry and more. Whether you plan to work in a lab, a courtroom or a corporate office, this degree provides a strong scientific foundation that opens doors.
