Chemistry | Forensics option

Bachelor of Science

Where science meets law

If you're interested in solving crimes and analyzing evidence through science, the forensics option within the bachelor’s in chemistry offers the ideal foundation. This option is designed for students who want to work in crime labs or forensic settings, blending rigorous chemical training with key coursework in analytical chemistry, biology and statistics.

While not a standalone forensic science degree, this is a full chemistry degree that prepares you to succeed in forensic roles. You'll gain hands-on experience in chemical analysis, learn how to interpret data in a legal context and explore the techniques used in modern forensic investigations. This program aligns with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue employment in crime laboratories or continue with specialized forensic training.

Whether you plan to work at the local, state or federal level — or contribute to research in forensic science — this option equips you with the scientific and analytical tools to make a real impact in the justice system.
