At COS, science isn’t just something you study — it’s something you do. Our world-class researchers are making discoveries that impact the future and as a student here, you’ll be part of it.

You’ll learn directly from scientists who are leading breakthroughs in their fields, and you’ll have opportunities to get involved in research as early as your first year. From mapping the Earth with geospatial tools to studying DNA in bioinformatics labs or exploring climate change in Idaho’s diverse landscapes, hands-on experience is built into your education.

You’ll also have opportunities to engage with cutting-edge research through the IDEA Network for Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) and the Institute for Modeling Complex Interactions (IMCI).
