Audition dates:

Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 29, from 10am-1pm by appointment in the Hartung Theatre.

All BFA and MFA Performance students are required to audition, regardless of availability for shows.

How to sign up

• Review all audition information and special considerations

• One 1:00-1:30 contemporary monologue
• One 1:00 (or less) cut of a Musical Theatre song in the style of the show  
• Clearly marked sheet music - an accompanist will be provided. No tracks.
• Required for BFA students: A hard copy of your headshot and resume
• There will be a mandatory dance call for actors interested in consideration for Urinetown that will take place immediately after the Vocal/Monologue audition commences.

• Required for BFA students: Bring hard copies of your 8x10 headshot attached to your resume when you audition.

Callbacks will be held Sunday, August 30. Select actors will be invited to attend the callback and sides from the show will be provided ahead of time. Please come prepared in movement clothing and warmed up.

Idaho Repertory Theatre proudly presents “Venus in Fur,” a mysterious, funny and erotic drama by David Ives, directed by Associate Professor Craig A. Miller. 

Thomas, a beleaguered playwright and director, is desperate to find an actress to play Vanda, the female lead in his adaptation of the classic sadomasochistic tale “Venus in Fur.” Into his empty audition room walks a vulgar and equally desperate actress — oddly enough, named Vanda.   

Though utterly wrong for the sophisticated part, Vanda exhibits a strange command of the material, piquing Thomas' interest with her seductive talents and secretive manner. As the two work through the script, they blur the line between play and reality, entering into an increasingly serious game of submission and domination that only one of them can win.

This is an 18+ production.

Performances run July 9-26 in the Forge Theatre, 404 Sweet Ave., Moscow. Tickets are free for U of I students or $6-$26 for the general public at uitickets.com.

When Robin's rule-breaking involves the supposed kidnapping of the Sherriff of Nottingham's son, Maverick, the Sheriff vows to impose a heavy tax on all of Nottingham until he is returned. When Robin doesn't concede, the Sheriff and his guards enter the forest, raring for a fight, but Robin and her merry-makers give them something very different in return.

This family-friendly production, starring the talented performers of the Summer Drama Camp, takes the Hartung Theatre stage on August 1 and 2 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. each day. Tickets are free for children 12 and under and $16 for general admission at uitickets.com.

Most of our theatre productions offer general admission seating. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

Hartung Theatre offers accessible entrances, ramp access and stair-free seating options. If you require special assistance, let our Ticket Office know in advance to ensure the best seating accommodations.

Wheelchair spaces are available at Hartung Theatre, but they are limited. Purchase your tickets early and inform the Ticket Office if you need wheelchair seating. A paved wheelchair ramp is located about 25 feet south of the theatre’s main stair entrance.

Absolutely! Children who are old enough to enjoy a full performance are welcome. We recommend checking each production’s description to ensure the show is appropriate for younger audiences.

Food and beverages are not permitted inside performance spaces, with the exception of bottled water.

No. In accordance with University of Idaho policy, smoking is prohibited in areas of public assembly. Smoke only in designated outdoor areas away from building entrances.

Photography, audio recording and video recording are strictly prohibited during performances. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a distraction-free environment.

Silence all cell phones, pagers and electronic devices before the performance begins. Better yet — turn them off completely to fully enjoy the show!
