U of I is a residential university - When you live on campus, you are at the center of student life. You will meet new friends and grow as an individual. You can walk to your classes and enjoy nationally recognized recreational opportunities, Division I athletics, and world-renowned performances and lectures. On-campus living options for first-year students* include multiple Residence Halls, Fraternity and Sorority houses, Steel House women's cooperative and on-campus apartments for families and graduate students.
*First-year students are required to live on campus their first year at the U of I. Research shows a higher success rate in first-year students who live on campus.
