What happens during an academic coaching appointment?
Each session is guided by your goals and questions. We’ll start by getting to know you and then dive into the academic topics you bring to the conversation. Your coach will share strategies, help you plan next steps and connect you with other helpful campus resources if needed.

Coaches are here to support your academic success. Common topics include:
- Study skills
- Test-taking strategies

Who can use Academic Coaching?

Is Academic Coaching required?
No! Coaching is optional but many students are referred by faculty or advisors because it can really boost your college experience.
Is academic coaching confidential?
Academic Coaching isn’t a confidential resource in the same way counseling is, but your information is kept private. We follow all FERPA guidelines.
Are academic coaches mental health professionals?
No, academic coaches aren’t licensed counselors. But we understand that academics and mental health are closely connected.
