Susana Ruiz-Gallegos: Motivated, determined, thankful
As a first generation college student, I use my motivation and drive to achieve more in my life, and studies. It has not been an easy journey for me to be here at the University of Idaho, but I am determined to not perpetuate the cycle of poverty in my family, so I’m working hard to improve my life and future.
My academic advisor, Brian Wolf, and my honor’s advisor, Alton Campbell have both inspired and challenged me to further my education by studying abroad. Through their guidance - and your generous gift to the University of Idaho – I hope to study criminal justice systems through a CLASS-sponsored educational trip to Scotland Yard, London later this year.
Thank you for helping me achieve a childhood dream of mine by being the first in my family to graduate from a university. It would not be possible without your support. After graduation, I plan to follow your example and give back to the next generation of Vandals so they, too, may fulfill their dreams.
