Longtime UI Faculty Member Fred Jensen Dies

Longtime UI faculty member Alfred Wilbur (Fred) Jensen, 79, of Idaho Falls, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at his home. Fred was born on July 2, 1937, in Pocatello, Idaho to Anton “Tony”Wilhelm and Helen May Jensen. He spent the first five years of his life on the family farm in Crystal, Bannock County, Idaho. Congratulations to a team of dedicated Vandal staff who helped a student who faced serious health issues that kept her from returning on time for Winter Break. They coordinated with faculty, advised and implemented schedule changes, arranged an online option for a foreign language class, and helped in many other ways. They communicated with the student's family and helped navigate a potentially college-ending experience. Read more
