Building history
Opened in 1970 alongside the U of I Swim Center, the Physical Education Building marked a new era in Vandal athletics and recreational access on campus. The 52,846-square-foot facility expanded the university’s athletic infrastructure and has long served both university programs and the Moscow community.
Today, PEB is a vital academic space as well, housing the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences’ Department of Movement Sciences. Students use the building daily for immersive learning in physical education, kinesiology, athletic training and movement sciences.
