A hub for health, fitness and community at U of I

The Physical Education Building (PEB) is home to a variety of athletic, academic and community-based programs. With two gymnasiums, two dance studios, research labs, classrooms and faculty offices, the facility supports everything from Vandal athletics and intramural sports to youth programming and public events. A large selection of recreational gear is available through the on-site equipment cage for use by students and the public.

Regular activities at the PEB include:

  • Vandal Athletics team practices and events
  • University of Idaho intramural sports programs
  • Community team practices and recreational play
  • Festival Dance Academy and Performing Arts Association programs

Building history

Opened in 1970 alongside the U of I Swim Center, the Physical Education Building marked a new era in Vandal athletics and recreational access on campus. The 52,846-square-foot facility expanded the university’s athletic infrastructure and has long served both university programs and the Moscow community.

Today, PEB is a vital academic space as well, housing the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences’ Department of Movement Sciences. Students use the building daily for immersive learning in physical education, kinesiology, athletic training and movement sciences.

Reserve Physical Education Building spaces

Looking to host a tournament, youth practice, dance class or wellness event? A variety of flexible spaces suited to athletic, educational and community needs are available for rent.

For details on pricing and available services, reach out to Events and Conference Services at idahoevents@uidaho.edu or check availability and make a reservation request online.
