Hands-on health care experiences
Each year, we invite the close-knit communities of Idaho to join us for hands-on medical experiences through community outreach events like Doc for a Day and Hands-on Health Care. These events, put on by North Idaho Area Health Education Center (NI-AHEC), connect youth aspiring to go into the health professions with the local health care community and SHAMP students to encourage them to pursue a career in medicine.
Research Symposium
The annual fall Research Symposium offers medical students a platform to showcase their research projects and engage in meaningful intellectual exchanges in a professional environment. Attendees can connect with aspiring physician-scientists who are passionate about advancing health care. This event supports our mission to develop the next generation of physician-scientists dedicated to expanding medical knowledge, driving innovation and improving health care for Idahoans.
