Education in action

We believe exceptional education happens when world-class facilities, dedicated faculty and innovative learning come together. As an on-campus SHAMP student, you'll gain hands-on experience and sharpen your skills through opportunities like:

  • Vandal Health Clinic: Medical students learn by doing in the campus clinic.
  • ISMaRT Clinic: Athletic Training students treat musculoskeletal injuries of students, staff and community members.
  • Counseling and Mental Health Center: Clinical psychology students train by providing mental health services to U of I students.
  • IOURMR: Health professions students research the barriers to health care access for Idaho’s rural and underserved populations.

For online SHAMP students, the opportunities to build your skills and make an impact include:

  • Flexible learning: SHAMP’s online degrees are designed for working professionals, offering flexible learning environments that cater to your needs.
  • Research opportunities: Collaborate with IOURMR to investigate Idaho’s healthcare challenges.
  • Hands-on experience: Complete a capstone project that makes a meaningful impact in your own community, wherever that may be.

These initiatives reflect SHAMP’s commitment to improving health outcomes locally and nationally, centering your education on professional growth, relevant experience and societal impact.
