The School of Health and Medical Professions’ mission is to improve the health of the people of Idaho by developing a robust academic health care education delivery system that will launch a skilled workforce of health care professionals to address critical industry shortages. Together, we’ll work to:
- Create an educational pathway in Idaho to train our citizens in health care professions. Vandal medical education will expand and strengthen health care services in Idaho.
- Expand health care education at University of Idaho to address the critical workforce shortage.
- Bring more quality physicians to Idaho’s rural areas.
- Develop continuing education and professional development programs to train and retain existing health care professionals to ensure that even the most remote areas receive adequate medical and mental health services.
- Meet the medical workforce needs of the future as the population continues to grow in Idaho and the nation.
- Build a school based upon the highest quality, basic, applied and clinical research.
