    Idaho Young Cattle Producer Conference

The Idaho Young Cattle Producer Conference provides young cattle producers an opportunity to receive in-depth information on the cattle industry in Idaho. The program is offered annually in June to 20 producers between the age of 18 and 40. Conference registration is free. Participants must cover the cost of travel and lodging.

The conference is a direct result of a desire by the beef cattle industry in Idaho to provide an in-depth training opportunity for beginning cattle producers in the state. The conference is a partnership between the Idaho Cattle Association, University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and University of Idaho Extension. The program was put together by a conference planning committee made up of representatives from the beef cattle industry, allied industry and UI Extension.

June 22-24, 2026, in Fort Hall

The Idaho Young Cattle Producers conference is a three-day conference that coincides with the Idaho Cattle Association's Summer Meeting where participants are provided the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the Idaho cattle industry as a whole while networking with seasoned producers and allied industry representatives. Participants hear from expert speakers on the topics of risk management, financing an operation, and marketing options and strategies.

Additionally, the conference is joined by representatives from other organizations that represent cattle producers as well as the Idaho Cattle Association. Classroom time is balanced with a tour that includes stops at packing facilities, feedyards and purebred operations.
