4-H Youth Development
The UI Extension 4-H Youth Development program is a leader in guiding Idaho’s youth to become responsible, productive citizens. 4-H is open year round to youth from five to 18 years old. The 4-H year runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.

Youth Livestock Field Days
These are one-day workshops that teach youth about raising 4-H market projects (beef, swine, sheep, goat).

- June 21 – Goats and Lamb
Hosted by Washington State University and University of Idaho Extension.
Enrollment is done through the 4-H online portal. If you have questions or need help with the enrollment process, please contact the UI Extension, Nez Perce County office at 208-799-3096 or nezperce@uidaho.edu.
Participants 8 to 18 years old take part in a wide variety of project, leadership and citizenship activities, including competitive events. Special needs individuals older than 18 are eligible to participate if they are enrolled in high school.
Cloverbuds is designed for youth ages 5 to 7 years old and focuses on non-competitive group learning experiences.
A modest fee ($25 for regular members or $15 for Cloverbuds) provides program support.
4-H livestock and small animal projects are designed to teach youth the principles of animal science. With each project, participants learn current industry standards of sound breeding, feeding and management practices.

Citizenship Washington Focus is a wonderful opportunity that helps youth ages 15 to 19-years-old identify and understand their active role in society. This unique 4-H youth program combines educational workshops and operational simulations with educational field trips and professional consultations. Topic highlights include youth issues, the U.S. Constitution and the federal government.
4-H home, career and leisure projects help members learn by doing.
