    Your health and wellness are top priorities at University of Idaho. We offer a wide range of services to support your mental, emotional and physical wellbeing so you can enjoy life as a Vandal inside and outside the classroom. Whether you’re seeking counseling, medical care, recovery support or ways to stay active and healthy, we’re here to help you feel your best throughout your college journey.

    Mental and emotional wellness support

    College life can be exciting and challenging. U of I provides compassionate, confidential mental health resources to help you manage stress, build resilience and feel supported.

    Mental and emotional support services include:

    • Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC): Offers free confidential counseling, group therapy and workshops to help students with personal, academic and emotional concerns.
    • Vandal Health Education (VHE): Provides wellness workshops, peer education, events and resources on everything from mental health and nutrition to recovery support.
    • Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Program: Supports students in, or seeking recovery from, substance misuse while promoting harm reduction and wellness-based choices.

    Physical wellness and staying healthy on campus

    Your physical health plays a big role in your success. That’s why we offer services that make it easy to stay active, nourished and cared for.

    Campus health and recreation services include:

    • Vandal Health Clinic: On-campus medical services for everything from routine checkups to illness and injury treatment.
    • Campus recreation and sports: Join intramural teams, explore fitness classes or stay active in our top-tier recreation facilities.
    • Vandal Food Pantry: Providing free short-term food resources for students experiencing food insecurity.

    Campus lactation rooms

    University of Idaho offers designated lactation areas on campus for parents and caregivers who need to feed their infants or express milk in a quiet, private space.

    Card swipe access with VandalCard. Available on a first-come, first-served basis. Campus visitors who require access should visit the Dean’s Suite on the fifth floor to obtain a key if the room is unoccupied but the door is locked.

    Safety and security support services

    Feeling safe on campus is an essential part of wellness. Our Office of Public Safety, Security and Parking keeps the U of I community protected through emergency preparedness, 24/7 security and safety reporting.

    ISMaRT Clinic

    At the ISMaRT clinic, we’re not just treating injuries; we’re shaping the next generation of health care leaders.

    ISMaRT can help you

    Whether you’re tackling an old injury or looking to stay active and strong, the clinic team is ready to help you overcome injuries to joints, muscles, tendons and more.

    Your initial evaluation is always free. Follow-up appointment costs are minimal:

    • U of I Students: No fee
    • U of I Employee: $10/visit
    • Community members: $15/visit

    Hours and appointments

    Ready to take the next step? Find the ISMaRT clinic on the first floor of the Education, Health and Human Sciences building.

    Walk-ins and appointments are welcome and free patient parking is available in the Administration building parking lot.

    The clinic operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

    You may also request tele-health appointments. Your journey to recovery starts here.

    • Monday: Noon to 3 p.m.
    • Tuesday: 10 a.m. to noon, 4-6 p.m.
    • Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Thursday: 8 a.m. to noon, 4-6 p.m.
    • Friday: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    ISMaRT Parking
    1. There is one reserved/free parking spot for the ISMaRT clinic, in Lot 40, located adjacent to the administration building.
      1. This parking spot is first-come, first-served.
      2. No parking pass needed.
      3. If you arrive and this spot is used, please notify your clinician.
    2. Metered spots behind the Physical Education Building (PEB).
      1. Enter Lot 39 from Rayburn Street.
      2. These are coin and card operated machines.
    3. Metered spots along Rayburn Street.
      1. Found between the Kibbie Dome and the Physical Education Building.
      2. These are managed by a credit/debit operated machine, located about halfway up the hill on Rayburn.
    4. You may purchase a visitor pass, which can be used to park in any Gold, Red, Blue, Purple, Silver or Green lots.
      1. These are purchased through the Parking and Transportation Services Office at the corner of Railroad and W. Sweet Avenue or through their website.
      2. This pass will generally cost $3 per day.
