Message from the SHAMP directors
Welcome to the University of Idaho’s School of Health and Medical Professions (SHAMP). Here, you’ll find more than programs and classrooms. You’ll find a team of educators who are deeply invested in your success and committed to preparing the next generation of health and medical leaders.
Together with our sister institutions, our programs are designed to address the growing need for a skilled health care workforce, especially in rural and underserved communities. Through hands-on learning and immersive experiences, you will graduate with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these areas and be prepared to put your training into action immediately. Your education and the skills you gain will strengthen your confidence as a healthcare professional and equip you with the expertise needed to make a meaningful impact. You’ll be prepared to contribute to stronger, healthier communities wherever you practice.
You’ll also benefit from SHAMP’s statewide research and outreach initiatives - including the Idaho Office of Underserved and Rural Medical Research’s Project ECHO Idaho, North Idaho AHEC, the Office of Continuing Education, and the Office of Research and Evaluation. Students have opportunities to participate in these programs and collaborate with faculty and staff to advance health care access and education.
At SHAMP, we believe in working alongside our students. We are here to support you, challenge you, and help you grow into the professional you aspire to become, all at a remarkable value.
We hope you’ll join us as we work together to strengthen the health care workforce and expand access to care for all.
Go Vandals!
