Message from the directors
At University of Idaho’s School of Health and Medical Professions (SHAMP), we are dedicated to advancing health and medical care across the state. As we work toward addressing critical gaps in health care and strengthening communities, we are proud to work with you on our mission of transforming health care education and access in Idaho.
Our programs are specifically designed to address gaps in the health care workforce that impact Idaho’s rural and underserved communities, and we are proud to be locking arms with our sister institutions and educating graduate-level health and medical students. Our students will graduate as leaders in the health and medical professions, shaping care in Idaho and beyond.
In addition to graduate-level health care programs, SHAMP is proud to be home to statewide research and outreach initiatives, including the Idaho Office of Underserved and Rural Medical Research, Project ECHO Idaho, North Idaho Area Health Education Center and the Office of Continuing Education. These programs play critical roles in advancing access to health care and health education across rural Idaho.
It is our hope that by working together, we will strengthen Idaho’s communities and bolster health care statewide.
Already we have accomplished so much, and we know that as a team we will take on even more.
