With support from our dedicated faculty, campus community and strong partnerships, your education will focus on hands-on learning, leadership opportunities and connections with local industries — giving you a competitive edge in North Idaho and beyond. Our programs — including seamless transfers from NIC — provide a cost-effective pathway to graduation while giving you real-world experience that will prepare you for your future.

Meet our student support team

Student support staff are here to guide you every step of the way. Academic advisors help you navigate the course catalog and transfer pathways. Student Affairs professionals foster engagement and well-being and can provide community resources to connect with others and succeed in Coeur d’Alene.

Our in-person undergrad degrees are designed as transfer programs in partnership with North Idaho College. By connecting early and often with faculty members, they will help you create a clear and efficient path to graduation. Comprehensive advising directly from your chosen program — including a preliminary credit evaluation — will help avoid credit loss before transferring and keep you on track to graduate on time. Faculty advisors also offer mentorship and guidance for professional success before and after you complete your degree.

University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene student ambassadors play a vital role in creating a dynamic and inclusive campus community. Ambassadors help future Vandals learn about U of I and foster a sense of belonging and academic excellence among current students. Ambassadors organize events such as coffee hours, mid-semester events and holiday parties and assist in coordinating student outreach, making a lasting impact on the U of I Coeur d’Alene community.

Student engagement

Connect in Coeur d’Alene! We are dedicated to not only educating students but also empowering them to create distinctive experiences, meaningful relationships and lifelong memories.

The center hosts a variety of events throughout the academic year to engage our community. From back-to-school bashes and holiday open houses to our end-of-year celebrations, our center invests in the spirit of collaboration, innovation and community. Our events are more than just fun gatherings – they help build connections, inspire creativity and cultivate a culture of collaboration where students, employees and local partners work together in Coeur d’Alene.

Coeur d’Alene Vandals are offered opportunities to engage at local civic and community events – our students visit with state-wide leaders during governor visits to North Idaho and connect with local leaders on a personal level. As a Vandal, you’ll be connected to networks and resources that help you reach your goals.

Financial resources

Students enrolling in North Idaho College and University of Idaho in the same semester and seeking financial aid through U of I must complete a consortium agreement form each term to be eligible for aid.

The Go Idaho! Scholarship Program guarantees scholarship funding to Idaho transfer students, renewable for up to three years with a minimum 2.5 U of I GPA. Additional need-based funds may be available based on the results of your FAFSA, which we encourage you to complete annually.

Off-campus housing

While University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene doesn’t offer student housing at this time, the North Idaho College Residence Hall may accept U of I students on a space-available basis. Additional housing options can be found through these local business directories and resources:
