Teaching

The Martin Institute supports the undergraduate major and minor in International Studies (IS) in the School of Global Studies. IS is an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for success in the evolving international community. Students in any major on campus with an interest in our programs or classes are welcome to affiliate with the Institute.

The Martin Institute partnership with the IS Program means that students have access to the kinds of opportunities normally reserved for students at private liberal arts colleges, while studying at Idaho’s research university. These opportunities include seminars at both the freshman and senior levels, funding of the U of I’s distinctive Model United Nations experience, and scholarship support for the required study abroad experience. Other distinctive features include the Togo summer experience, classes from visiting experts, and a series of other innovative courses taught by institute faculty.
