Teaching

The Martin Institute administers an undergraduate major and minor in International Studies (IS), an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for success in the evolving international community.

The Martin Institute partnership with the IS Program means that students have access to the kinds of opportunities normally reserved for students at private liberal arts colleges, while studying at Idaho’s research university. These opportunities include seminars at both the freshman and senior levels, funding of the U of I’s distinctive Model United Nations experience, and scholarship support for the required study abroad experience. Other distinctive features include the Togo summer experience, classes from visiting experts, and a series of other innovative courses taught by institute faculty.
