The Club Coalition

The Martin Institute and Program in International Studies supports various clubs on a year-by-year basis. The Club Coalition is designed to provide a platform for collaboration between affiliated clubs.

International Affairs Club (IAC)

The IAC is composed of students from various majors with interest in international issues and cultures. The IAC provides an out-of-classroom forum for the exploration of international issues and offers preparation for students who seek international careers. It also works in collaboration with Oxfam and other UI student organizations and committees to present high profile events such as the annual Hunger Banquet. We:

  • Hold regular meetings in the Martin Institute;
  • Invite guest lecturers to speak at our meetings about current international events and issues;
  • Host and show international documentaries;
  • Have dinner with visiting guest speakers and dignitaries;
  • Sponsor the NMUN delegation.

For more information contact IAC.

Oxfam America (Oxfam)

Oxfam America is a global organization working to right the wrongs of poverty, hunger, and injustice. Oxfam works in over 90 nations to affect change globally. We, as a club focus, on Oxfam's current campaigns in the U.S. and globally. Oxfam provides space for all members to share ideas and views about better ways to affect change together. "The way we see it, poverty is solvable—A problem rooted in injustice. Eliminate injustice and you can eliminate poverty."
