University of Idaho Career Fair
Make connections at the Career Fair
Each year, hundreds of employers come to campus to recruit University of Idaho students and alumni. Key events include two major career fairs — held each fall and spring — as well as a fall fair just for Moscow-area employment and a summer and seasonal job fair.
These events are a chance to connect with recruiters, explore full-time jobs, internships, seasonal employment and graduate school options. Showcase your skills, gain insights into your field and grow your professional network. All majors, degrees and class years are welcome.

Career Fair FAQ
How should I prepare for the Career Fair?
Read the Vandal Career Fair Guide
The Vandal Career Fair Guide has everything you need for more tips on building confidence and having great conversations with employers. Remember, career fairs are all about connecting with people — you never know where these industry connections may lead!
Attend a Career Fair Prep Workshop or Resume Rush
You’ll learn how to prepare and succeed in engaging with employers, how to navigate the fair in Handshake and get a checklist of everything you need to do before the fair to be fully prepared. These sessions are offered on multiple dates and times leading up to the fair—look for the “Career Fair Prep” workshops listed on the Event Calendar.
Meet with a Career Consultant
Schedule an appointment through Handshake to have a career consultant review your resume, practice your elevator pitch and brainstorm questions to ask recruiters.
Research organizations attending
Researching organizations prior to the Career Fair helps you ask informed questions, tailor your pitch, and stand out to recruiters. Knowing which companies align with your goals means you can make the most of your time at the fair. You can find the list of employers and grad schools attending on Handshake and clicking on the "Fairs" button on the left-hand navigation bar.
What should I expect at the Career Fair?
When you arrive, check in on the east side of the Kibbie Dome to receive your printed name badge. Take advantage of free professional headshots available at the event. Keep in mind that some employers may conduct interviews during or after the fair, so be ready for a potential interview opportunity.
What should I wear to the Career Fair?
Business professional attire is strongly recommended for all students and alumni. At a minimum, business casual is appropriate — no sweats or denim allowed.
Quick Tips:
- Clothing should be clean and in neutral colors.
- Keep your hair neat and off your face.
- Make sure your nails are clean and trimmed.
- Avoid heavy cologne or perfume.
- Keep accessories, jewelry, and makeup simple and non-distracting.
Dressing the part will help you make a great impression.
Career Fair interviews
Employers may conduct interviews during in-person fairs, and each company controls its own interview schedule. To express interest in interviewing, talk to recruiters, give them your resume and ask about interview opportunities. Attending the fair does not guarantee an interview or employment offer.
The day after the fall and spring fairs, Career Services organizes mass interviews for a variety of organizations on campus. Our staff will check in interviewees and direct them to a general waiting area where interviewers will call them when they are ready.
For interview tips or to set up a mock interview, schedule an appointment with a Career Advisor on Handshake.
For employers interested in hosting on-campus interviews after the career fair, please contact the Employer Relations team by emailing careerservices@uidaho.edu.
