Art & Design Scholarship Application
Submission Instructions
You must be currently registered as an Art & Design program major.
Review the scholarship descriptions and criteria to determine your eligibility for each award.
Art & Design Program Scholarship:
Scholarship available to U of I undergraduate and graduate students enrolled fulltime as a declared major in the Art and Design Program. Minimum 2.75 U of I GPA required. Must demonstrate outstanding talent. Portfolio required.
Robert J. Harder Memorial Art Scholarship:
Scholarship available to full-time junior or senior students pursuing a BFA degree in
the Art & Design program. Minimum 3.0 U of I GPA required. Portfolio required.
Mary Kirkwood Scholarship:
Scholarship available to junior, senior, or graduate Art & Design program majors currently enrolled at the University of Idaho. Minimum 2.0 U of I GPA required. Portfolio required.
James H. Marshall Scholarship:
Scholarship awarded to fulltime students majoring in Art or Studio Art & Design. Selected on basis of academic achievement and potential. Preference to graduates of small Idaho high schools. Minimum 2.0 U of I GPA required. Portfolio required.
Harriet Shrontz Scholarship:
Scholarship awarded to currently enrolled full-time U of I undergraduate and graduate Art & Design program majors. Minimum 3.0 U of I GPA required. Primarily based on academic achievement and demonstrated talent. Portfolio required.
Nora Southon Tisdale Scholarship:
Scholarship available to Art & Design program majors with at least sophomore standing. Currently enrolled fulltime at the University of Idaho. Based on ability and potential. Minimum 2.0 U of I GPA required. Portfolio required.
Arnold Westerlund Memorial Scholarship:
Scholarship available to currently enrolled Art & Design program majors. Preference to students in printmaking. Minimum 2.0 U of I GPA required. Portfolio required.
Marie Haasch Whitesel Scholarship:
Scholarship available to Art & Design program majors currently enrolled full-time at the University of Idaho. Award based on demonstrated talent, ability and dedication. Minimum 2.0 U of I GPA required. Portfolio required.
Marshall Art Educator Scholarship
Scholarship available to support undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Education with emphasis in Art Education. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled full-time.
Leo Edwin Ames Arts Scholarship
Scholarship available to full time students pursuing an MFA degree in the Studio Arts program. Minimum 2.0 U of I GPA required. Portfolio required.

- You will be asked to upload a PDF file of one single-sided, 8.5” x 11”, contact sheet of 4-6 color images of your work, include the title, media, dimensions and date created for each image. View an Example.
- This one-page contact sheet will serve as your art and/or design work portfolio.
Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed. It is your responsibility to check your information and supporting materials thoroughly to be certain you have met all requirements and your submission is complete.
