Meet the dean: Shauna Corry 

Dear friends,

Welcome and thank you for visiting the College of Art and Architecture at University of Idaho.

The world faces many unique challenges, and it is our mission as makers, creators, designers, scholars and students to enhance the cultural assets of our state and develop solutions for the complex problems facing our world. Our research activities have broad impact, and our disciplines fuel Idaho’s creative economy and prepare students for careers in a growing and essential industry.

The work of artists, architects and designers permeates our cultural landscape. We craft nearly every aspect of built and virtual environments, from wood product designs, including furniture prototypes, to virtual worlds. We shape natural environments and plan communities, towns and cities. We provide beauty and carefully consider — often critically — the fabric of our everyday lives.

CAA offers a wide range of academic degree programs to foster creativity and innovation, with an emphasis on cultural and environmental stewardship. Our students are involved in hands-on activities, often working with industry professionals on real projects that provide them with the experience and perspective needed to become leaders in their field.

With two world-class research facilities in the state, virtual labs and established relationships with alumni and industry partners, all of Idaho is our classroom. We have a clear vision for the future and are prepared to meet the needs of our changing world.
