Testing Center
The University of Idaho Testing Center provides a secure, comfortable and accessible environment for a wide range of exams. We proudly serve U of I students, employees and members of the community, supporting academic integrity and professionalism in every testing experience. Our team follows the National College Testing Association’s (NCTA) Professional Standards and Guidelines, ensuring consistent, high-quality service.
Services
The Testing Center provides a variety of testing services, including:
- Proctoring services: For students or professionals needing supervised test-taking.
- Placement testing: Including ALEKS, CLEP and Avant PLACE, for program entry or course placement.
- Graduate admissions exams: Required for entry into graduate programs.
- Certification and licensure exams: For professional credentials and licensure requirements.
Payments must be made by credit card or through an active student account. Checks and cash are not accepted.
Additional student services
In partnership with the Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) and the Center for Disability Access and Resources (CDAR), the Testing Center provides specialized testing services such as:
- Psychological assessments
- Accommodated exams for students with documented disabilities

Online scheduling is available for most services, including placement testing, STAMP, Excel certification and proctored exams. For all other exam types, please call 208-885-5138.

Storage during testing
The Testing Center provides lockers for storing your personal belongings during your exam. Please keep the following in mind:
- Lockers are available for storing personal items during testing.
- Lockers fit standard-sized backpacks. Oversized bags may not fit.
- All personal belongings must be stored during your test.
- The Testing Center is not responsible for items that don’t fit in lockers or are left outside.
Staff are available to assist if needed.
About the Testing Center
The Testing Center is a member of the Consortium of College Testing Centers and is certified by the National College Testing Association as demonstrating exemplary practices in accordance with NCTA's Professional Standards and Guidelines for Post-Secondary Test Centers.
