About the U of I Math Team
The University of Idaho Math Team brings together students with a shared interest in mathematics. As a member, you'll explore real-world applications of math, prepare for regional and national competitions and engage in activities that promote mathematics as an important and dynamic discipline. Along the way, you’ll deepen your knowledge, sharpen your skills and build lasting connections through shared challenges and accomplishments.
William Lowell Putnam Competition
University of Idaho’s Math Team participates annually in the William Lowell Putnam Competition, the premier undergraduate mathematics competition in North America. The competition brings together individuals who are excited about math to gain career insights, promote math as a discipline and build camaraderie around math competitions. Historically, University of Idaho's team has placed in the top 10 percent nationally, receiving scores higher than the national mean and median.
