Vice Provost for Faculty
The Vice Provost for Faculty works closely with faculty, college leadership, faculty senate and other university leaders to position University of Idaho to successfully achieve the goals articulated in the Strategic Plan. The plan emphasizes the need for continued focus on higher levels of excellence in research, teaching and service which will be influenced by the faculty hired, the growth opportunities for those faculty and the support faculty receive.
The Vice Provost for Faculty provides leadership, support and mentoring for faculty in processes related to hiring, professional development, performance and career reviews and professional and personal career transitions. The Vice Provost is a liaison with Faculty Senate, department chairs, associate deans and deans, as well as others across campus to discuss, develop, resolve conflict and address opportunities that directly impact the university’s faculty. The Vice Provost ensures faculty personnel processes are implemented consistently and equitably at the university.
The Vice Provost for Faculty oversees the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and assists them and their various reporting units in their missions of continuous improvement of faculty and programs.
