Training and Support

25Live Rollout and Training Schedule

To initiate 25Live training for your unit, please fill out and complete the 25Live intake survey. Data collected in the surveys will assist the 25Live team in planning implementation timelines across campus. Once these plans begin to take shape, the 25Live support team will be ready to contact you to schedule your 25Live implementation and training.

Train the Trainer Method

A Train the Trainer model is used for teaching 25Live, as this model allows each unit to become self-sustaining. This approach is necessary as each group using 25Live utilizes it in their own unique way, and these diverse business processes create differing use requirements within each unit.

Train the Trainer methodology requires that you identify the people who will become the 25Live trainers within your unit. Select a lead person and at least one other person as backup. These trainers will be provided instruction on using 25Live as configured for the department. After training, the trainers will take the lead in assembling a working 25Live desk manual that can serve as a day-to-day reference guide for in-house 25Live procedures, and will provide the training for any new 25Live users in the unit.

While the expectation is that requests for assistance with 25Live are first fielded within your unit or department, the 25Live support team is always here to provide you with timely answers to your questions. If you require help with functionality, wish to utilize new tools or features, add new users, report a bug or other operational issue, or simply want to share a great idea for a new feature, we want to hear from you! We’ll also provide refresher and advanced topic training upon request. For assistance, send email to r25@uidaho.edu

Accessing 25Live

Implementation and training for your unit are required before you can request an account and sign-in to 25Live. You may use the Location Search feature without an account. Access the 25Live Pro Test Site only as directed.

Chrome and Firefox work best with 25Live. Edge works but is not recommended as it may have issues with some content.

25Live is a hosted, web-based application accessed via a web browser. Best performance from 25Live is often achieved by frequent clearing of your browser cache and cookies. Since Duo authentication also relies on browser cookies, it is a good idea to user separate browsers for each function. This will prevent you from erasing your current Duo authentication if you need to clear cache and cookies for 25Live.

Clearing browser cache and cookies often improves 25Live performance and may clear software issues.

Chrome – select the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of the browser screen. Select More Tools and Clear browsing data. Ensure that Cookies and Cached files are selected. Select CLEAR DATA. The short cut using a keyboard command is to click into the browser window and press shift+Crtl+delete.

Firefox
– select the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the browser screen that looks like a bookshelf (three vertical and one diagonal lines). Select History and Clear recent history. Ensure that Cookies and Cache are selected. Select Clear History. The short cut using a keyboard command is to click into the browser window and press shift+Crtl+delete.

Edge – select the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the browser screen that consists of three parallel dots. Select Settings and Privacy & Security. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear. Select Cookies and saved website data, and select Clear. Close your browser window before resuming.

Some 25Live functions require the use of popups. The base URL for 25Live is https://25live.collegenet.com

Chrome - select the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of the browser screen. Select Settings. Select Advanced. Scroll down and select Content settings. Select popups. Add the 25Live base URL by selecting ADD and Allow and entering the URL.

Firefox - select the icon composed of three horizontal bars in the upper right-hand corner of the browser screen. Select Option. Select Content. Uncheck Block pop-up windows. Enter the base 25Live URL above under Exceptions. Select Save Changes.

Edge – select the three dots in the upper right-hand corner to access the More Action menu, then select Settings, then select Advanced settings and switch the toggle to No to turn off Block pop-ups.

To have new 25Live user accounts created, please send email to r25@uidaho.edu with the following information:

  • User name (first, last)
  • User email address (including @uidaho.edu)
  • User security group (i.e. Chemistry schedulers)

To have new contacts, organizations, locations or resources added to your scheduling environment, please sent email to r25@uidaho.edu and include the following information with your request:

  • For Contacts – include name, email address and organizational affiliation

  • For Organizations – include name.

    • If on-campus, include whether it is an administrative or academic unit

    • If off-campus, include whether it is for-profit, or non-profit. If not-profit include taxed or tax-exempt.
  • For Locations – include building name, room number or name, room capacity, functional use, and any room features you’d like to include, such as projector, Zoom capability, windows, conference table, etc.

  • For Resources – include name, and quantity if not unlimited.

25Live favorite icon

Starred items become favorites and provide frequently used objects with better visibility and quicker access. To star an item, click the star adjacent to the item to highlight it. To remove an item from favorites, click the star to remove the yellow highlight. You should star the things you use the most, such as:

  • Locations
  • Organizations
  • Requestors
  • Event Types
  • Resources
  • Searches
  • Reports

25Live refresh icon

Sometimes you will not see a new item, for example, a newly constructed search, contact, or organization in a 25Live menu, as you expect. This is usually resolved by refreshing the screen or menu you are on. Select the swirly round blue refresh button and your item will usually appear. Don’t use the browser refresh where the 25Live URL is listed. If you do, it will refresh the browser and will bring you back to the home page.

The mobile version of 25Live provides a streamlined scheduling environment without all of the “bells and whistles” of desktop 25Live. It works well from phones and tablets, but it can also be a quick and easy scheduling tool from your desktop. With 25Live Mobile, your event entry form isn’t paginated and you can quickly scroll through the event entry fields. When you sign in to 25Live from a mobile device you will automatically be on the mobile version. To use 25Live Mobile from your desktop, launch 25Live and select Mobile Version from the bottom of your 25Live screen.
