Accessible campus transportation
Vandal Access para-transportation shuttle
The Vandal Access shuttle service, funded by Parking and Transportation Services (PTS), provides on-campus transportation for students and employees with temporary or long-term mobility limitations. This service ensures equal access to facilities, programs and events across campus.
How to sign up
Advanced authorization is required before using the Vandal Access shuttle. The approval process depends on whether you have a University of Idaho disability parking permit.
If you have a U of I disability parking permit:
- Complete the Vandal Access rider form (the need for a personal care assistant (PCA) or a service animal to accompany the person much be included on the form), and
- PTS staff will contact you to confirm your ride schedule.
If you do not have a U of I disability parking permit, submit ONE of the following:
- CDAR or HR documentation — Students should work with the Center for Disability Access and Resources (CDAR), and employees should contact Human Resources for accommodation documentation, OR
- Doctor’s note — A note from a licensed medical provider including the expected duration of service stating the person meets the definition for a “person with a disability,” as defined by Idaho Code section 49-117(7)(b) and needs mobility assistance, OR
- Pregnancy-related mobility assistance — A medical note specifying the necessity of transportation assistance during pregnancy.
Failure to provide required documentation within five days of application will result in delay of services until submitted.
