Expand your horizons, learn around the world

In the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS), you’ll have the opportunity to participate in faculty-led international experiences, global research projects and semester-long exchange programs that enhance your academic and professional growth. Studying abroad allows you to immerse yourself in different cultures, gain global perspectives and apply your learning in experiential settings.

Our students have traveled the world to study politics in Germany and the Czech Republic, excavate an ancient Greek road in Bulgaria, explore pop culture in South Korea, discuss peace and sustainability in Japan, study composition in Mexico City and perform on international stages.  Whether you’re interested in political science, journalism, psychology, music, history, theatre or interdisciplinary studies, every CLASS department offers study abroad opportunities that align with your goals.

Through partnerships with University of Idaho’s International Programs Office, you can explore study abroad programs in more than 70 countries. Customize your experience to fit your major and interests while earning U of I credits abroad.

Why study abroad?

  • Cultural immersion — Live and learn in diverse environments.
  • Career readiness — Gain international experience valued by employers.
  • Academic enrichment — Take specialized courses not available at U of I.
  • Language proficiency — Strengthen communication skills in a global setting.

To learn more about department-specific study abroad opportunities, contact your advisor or department chair.
