Why Idaho?
I chose University of Idaho because I liked the campus and the atmosphere that was shown to me. The student ambassador who led me around the school answered my questions really well, and the administration was very friendly and organized. I also appreciated that the class was competitive, but people were friendly and helpful to each other. I met one of the professors and sat in on one of the classes and it seemed pretty great. It was also helpful that it was closer to home for me.
What advice would you offer to incoming 1Ls?
Some advice I have for 1L students is that you make sure you have free time for yourself everyday. You will burn out really fast if you spend all your time on homework. Make sure you actually understand the material and you are not just reading it. Try to get a reasonable amount of sleep. For me that means going to bed early and waking up early. You can use the extra time in the morning for homework. Also pay attention to what is taught in class, professors tend to test on what they teach. On the other hand, there are some professors who will test on every note and footnote in the book, so make sure to figure out who those are.
Favorite Moscow recommendation?
Mingles isn’t my favorite thing to do, but many of the law students meet there to talk and hang out. There are pool tables or just places to sit down and talk, but it is pretty fun on a Friday night.
