Olivia Johnston
Moscow 2L
Hometown: Spokane, Washington
Undergrad School: Gonzaga University
Why Idaho?
I chose this school because it is close to home and where I want to practice, but it is also affordable. I also was attracted to the small class sizes where I know each professor and have opportunities to talk to them outside of class. This is not the case at every law school.
What advice would you offer to incoming 1Ls?
I would tell 1L’s to talk to as many attorneys as possible and say yes to any experiential opportunities that come your way. Often, the first year of law school you don’t understand how the things you learn in classes are applicable in practice. After interning, it makes so much more sense! Also, just focus on how you learn and retain information the best. Once you figure this out, law school becomes easier!
Favorite Moscow recommendation?
For Moscow, I love studying at Bucers Coffeehouse and Pub, Humble Burger is the best burger ever, and Hunga Dunga Mug Club is the best deal!
