Our advisors provide guidance on course selection, navigating university requirements and information on resources for students. Graduate advising
Graduate students are encouraged to contact their department and major professor for specific information regarding their degree program. The Student Services Office is available to assist with policies, procedures, resources and other advising needs.

Student Services Office
The Student Services Office is your hub for asking questions about admissions, connecting with resources, finding an exam proctor and resolving any issues that may arise. Our office is conveniently located in the Bennion Student Union Building in Idaho Falls.

College of Graduate Studies
The College of Graduate Studies (COGS) offers helpful info sheets that outline each step toward earning your degree, keeping you organized and on track. You’ll also find workshops tailored to the unique needs of graduate students — available live on Zoom or as recordings. Topics range from the practical (like the Graduate How-To series) to the personal and professional, including sessions on imposter syndrome and reflective or scholarly teaching practices. COGS and the Idaho Falls Student Services Office are here to help you navigate every stage of your graduate experience with confidence.

Graduate writing assistance
The College of Graduate Studies writing center assists graduate students with in-depth and ongoing feedback for larger projects such as proposals, theses and dissertations. Consultations are available virtually.
Career Services
Professional career advisors are available to guide you during your degree and beyond. Need someone to review your resume? Looking for an internship or a full-time job? Want to prep for an interview? Career Services is the place to go.
Academic coaching
Together with a coach, examine learning styles, habits of working and more. All U of I students can work directly with academic coaches over Zoom, by email or on the phone.
Technology help
Idaho Falls students have access to a suite of software. The computer lab in CHE 204 has specialized software that can be used for courses. The team from the Office of Information Technology can assist with connecting your laptop, using licensed software and more.

Campus facilities and study spaces
Finding the right study environment can make a difference in your academic success. The Bennion Student Union Building (BSUB) offers quiet spaces for studying and group project areas. The computer lab in the Center for Higher Education (CHE) building has the tech available to help you complete your assignments.
Benny’s Pantry
Good nutrition is essential to positive learning outcomes. Benny’s Pantry in the BSUB offers a variety of food and personal items. In partnership with the Idaho Food Bank, both fresh and canned items including vegan options are on the shelves and in the fridge. For more information on the pantry’s free assistance, contact the Student Services Office.
Campus safety
The well-being and security of our campus community are of utmost importance. In cooperation with Idaho State University’s public safety office, the campus buildings and parking management team aim to create a secure and welcoming environment for our entire community.

Student organizations
Getting involved on campus is a great way to build connections and develop leadership skills. For example, University of Idaho’s section of the American Nuclear Society welcomes undergraduate and graduate students from all majors, helping you build connections with other U of I Idaho Falls students.

Idaho State University’s library on the Idaho Falls campus is a walk-in center in the Tingey Administration Building (TAB). The friendly staff are here to support U of I students.
