Predicting Alfalfa Forage Quality in Southern Idaho

BUL1018

March 3, 2022

Indeed, producers who raise dairy quality hay can expect higher returns per ton than those of lower-quality hay. This publication describes two simple, inexpensive methods for predicting the harvest quality of first-cutting alfalfa hay in southern Idaho using the PEAQ method (predictive equations for alfalfa quality).
