Pollinator protection
Pollinator protection
Pollinating species provide an integral service to ecosystems worldwide, yet they face a variety of major challenges which threaten the health and productivity of lands where they function. University of Idaho Extension is dedicated to providing research and educational resources to assist in preserving this vital resource.
Just Bee-Cause Project goals are:
- To promote awareness of pollinators and the life-sustaining ecological role pollinators provide in nature and agriculture.
- To forge commitment to preserve and protect pollinators through advocating pollinator-wise practices.
Research
Results of pollinator research have provided valuable information relative to practices and resources that can help reduce risks to pollinators and their habitat. Below are links to important research projects.
- Ecological intensification to mitigate impacts of conventional intensive land use on pollinators and pollination
- Risks to pollinators and pollination from invasive alien species
