News
New apartment housing is under construction at South Hill on the University of Idaho campus in Moscow, and is scheduled to open in August 2026. South Hill will offer modern, sustainable housing for graduate students, married couples and families at the University of Idaho. The development includes 451 total beds — 232 for graduate students and 219 for married and parenting students — to meet a range of housing needs. A commons community center will provide shared spaces for studying, collaboration and social engagement.

    Health and wellbeing

    Family and consumer sciences programs work to improve the quality of life of adults, children and families — specifically through healthy lifestyles, nutrition, food safety and financial management.

    All programming is offered on an as requested basis. If you or your organization is interested in participating in any of the listed programs please, please contact us at lemhi@uidaho.edu or 208-742-1697.

    Family life development

    • Married and Loving it — this marriage enrichment program includes a series of seven workshops.
    • Basic Parenting — this five-class workshop focuses on parenting young children.
    • FOCCUS — this program includes a premarital inventory.

    Food safety

    The home preserving course includes a series of five workshops focused on all aspects of home food preservation. We also offer hands-on workshops focused on specific topics, like jams and jellies, pickling, applesauce, freezer jam, wild game and vegetable preservation. We also offer a handwashing workshop for pre-K through elementary students.
