Frequently Asked Questions
We look forward to announcing the Finals Fest line-up within 30 days of the event. Most artists' contracts contain a opt-out clause prior to 30 days of an event for cases of national attention, which can include being invited to open for a major artist, televisions exposure, or large events/ceremonies. Our goal is to schedule events where this is less likely to occur.
Thank you for the recommendation! One of Vandal Entertainment's goals is to provide events at little to no cost to current students. As such, we stay within our budget restrictions which often are up-and-coming artists or established artists who have not released new material for several years.
We have been very fortunate to host big names like Post Malone, Chance the Rapper, Macklemore, and even Taylor Swift (as a small concert) just before they made it. We hope to continue finding artists at the perfect time.
The best way to let us know who you want is completing the Vandal Entertainment survey in early Fall semester. We start searching in September, with intent to sign by November for the best deal.
You can also help do the research! Our budget usually covers a headliner fee of $50k, and the remainder of the budget is allocated toward equipment and security (about 30%-50% of the event total cost), and supporting acts (<$20k). Once you do the research, please send VE email the following information:
- Artist name
- Single-date performance price range
- Booking agent information
We will consult the survey preferences and do a PR check to confirm that the artist is within our student and University interests.
Finals Fest has often included student talent as an opening act. Set length can range from 30-60 minutes, and is meant to help hype the crowd while the other artists are preparing to come on stage.
