    As one of the nation’s 54 water research and technology centers, the Idaho Water Resources Research Institute (IWRRI) conducts and directs research to support the water resource needs of the state of Idaho, the Northwest region and the nation.

    As Idaho’s capital, Boise is the center of political and administrative activities in the state. UIdaho provides the southwest Idaho region with several policy and law resources through the Boise-based McClure Center and U of I College of Law.

    Discover water-related resources

    Idaho has 93,000 miles of streams and rivers and over 2,000 lakes, underscoring the importance of effectively managing and protecting our water resources. U of I Boise conducts water research and provides industry-leading facilities like CER’s 20-meter-long StreamLab and Aquatic Imaging Flume.

    Geology Field Camp is a 2 week course that happens every year and is required at U of I to get a Geology degree.

    With offices in Moscow and Boise, the Idaho Geological Survey (IGS) collects, interprets and disseminates geologic and mineral data for Idaho. The mission of IGS is to provide the state with timely and relevant geologic information.
