P1FCU Sponsors Kibbie Dome and Financial Literacy Program

June 20, 2023

MOSCOW, Idaho — P1FCU, a Northwest-based credit union, is slated to take the naming sponsorship of the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center on the University of Idaho Moscow campus, pending Idaho State Board of Education approval at a special meeting Wednesday, June 21.

The new proposed name is the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.

“P1FCU is honored to enter into this partnership with the university. The University of Idaho partnership and P1FCU Kibbie Dome naming sponsorship creates a great opportunity to further invest in young adults and empower them through a high-impact, high-value financial literacy education with support from our staff,” said P1FCU President and CEO Chris Loseth. “This will be a rewarding partnership for P1FCU along with the students, alumni, employees and fans of the University of Idaho and Vandal Athletics.”

The naming sponsorship is for 10 years and includes a variety of financial literacy sponsorships for students.

“P1FCU is an ideal partner for the University of Idaho because we share a deep commitment to educating and empowering the people we serve,” said U of I President Scott Green. “It’s exciting to work with them to expand their commitment to the Vandal Family. Together, we will further strengthen and elevate the university community.”

P1FCU will sponsor two student financial success programs:

  • Better Education About Money for Students (BEAMS) is a financial education and individualized coaching program that sets students up for financial success by teaching financial knowledge and skills. Roughly 400 U of I students participate in the program each year. The sponsorship aims to expand it to all students.
  • Elevate Idaho focuses on the changing landscape for student-athletes. With the advent of Name, Image, Likeness (NIL), student-athletes need financial strategies to help them best navigate this world. This sponsorship will partner the U of I College of Law’s Entrepreneurship Law Clinic and the College of Business and Economics Idaho Entrepreneurs program to help Vandal student-athletes maximize their opportunities with NIL.

“Recognizing that financial stability plays a vital role in students’ overall wellbeing, P1FCU is dedicated to empowering students through knowledge, resources and support to achieve financial success,” Loseth said. “By prioritizing their financial wellbeing, we not only equip students to be financial pacesetters, but we contribute to the overall strength of our communities. Together with the university, we will unlock the doors of financial success for every student, igniting their potential.”

The partnership will include support for UI Extension Personal and Family Finance programming, which focuses on personal and family finance for low- and moderate-income households in communities throughout the state.

“The Vandal Family has long called the Kibbie Dome home,” Green said. “This partnership with P1FCU helps us continue our commitment to student success, spurs excitement in our dedicated student-athletes and is yet another sign that the U of I is thriving.”
